Yahoo Sender Hub integration

Yahoo Sender Hub (sender.yahoo.com) is Yahoo’s postmaster tool for bulk senders — the Yahoo equivalent of Google Postmaster Tools. It provides direct visibility into complaint rates and sending reputation at Yahoo and AOL. Connecting it to InboxEagle surfaces Yahoo complaint data alongside your Gmail and overall placement metrics in one place.

  1. Go to Integrations

In the InboxEagle app, open Integrations from the main navigation and select Yahoo Sender Hub.

  2. Authorize with Yahoo

Click Connect and complete Yahoo’s OAuth flow. Use the Yahoo account associated with your Sender Hub property for the sending domain you want to monitor.

  3. Verify your sending domain in Yahoo Sender Hub

If you have not already verified your domain in Yahoo Sender Hub, do so at sender.yahoo.com by adding the required DNS TXT record. InboxEagle only shows data for verified domains.

  4. View complaint rate data

Once connected, complaint rate and risk zone data appear on your deliverability dashboard alongside your Google Postmaster metrics.

Yahoo classifies sending programs into three risk zones based on your complaint rate trend:

Risk zoneComplaint rateWhat it means
NormalBelow 0.10%Healthy program; no action required
WarningAt or above 0.10%Program is at risk; reduce complaint rate immediately
EnforcementApproaching or exceeding enforcement thresholdYahoo may throttle, bulk, or block your mail

The complaint rate is normalized against delivered mail — not total sent. A single high-volume send with elevated complaints can push your rate above the threshold even if your historical rate is low.

Yahoo complaint rate measures how often Yahoo and AOL users click Report spam on your emails, expressed as a percentage of mail delivered to Yahoo and AOL inboxes. This is similar in concept to Google Postmaster’s spam rate, but measured independently.

Key differences from Google Postmaster spam rate:

  • Google Postmaster measures Gmail-only complaints; Yahoo Sender Hub measures Yahoo and AOL combined.
  • Yahoo’s data processing typically has a 24-hour delay, similar to Google’s.
  • Yahoo uses zone-based classification (Normal/Warning/Enforcement) rather than tiered reputation labels (HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW/BAD).

InboxEagle sends alerts when your Yahoo complaint rate crosses the 0.10% warning threshold or when your risk zone changes. Alert delivery happens within 1 minute of data being received from Yahoo Sender Hub — though Yahoo’s own data has a 24-hour processing lag.

To configure alert notifications, go to Account → Notification settings in the InboxEagle app.

  • Domain not appearing — Verify the domain in Yahoo Sender Hub at sender.yahoo.com first. Only verified domains are returned by Yahoo’s API.
  • OAuth error during connection — Ensure you are using a Yahoo account that has owner or admin access to the Sender Hub property. Business Yahoo accounts may require separate authorization.
  • Data not updating — Yahoo processes and publishes Sender Hub data approximately once per 24 hours. If no new data appears after 48 hours, try reconnecting the integration from Integrations → Yahoo Sender Hub → Reconnect.
  • Complaint rate appears as 0% or very low — Yahoo only reports complaint rate data when you reach minimum sending volume thresholds to Yahoo/AOL addresses. Very low-volume senders may see insufficient data or a 0% rate that does not reflect actual complaints.
